There is something very special about Scandinavian design. It’s stylish, great quality and designed to be functional Scandi kids' clothes are no exception- featuring exceptionally lovely fabrics (often organic and ethically produced, classic styles and bold colours. An essence of whimsy, but a whole lot of practicality make Scandi brands some of our absolute favourites over at Use-Ta!

DUNS Sweden

This business has been around for over 10 years and receives a huge tick from us for using certified organic cotton. Bright, fun patterns adorn these unisex clothes (I’m secretly wishing that the onesies came in adult sizes). The stretchy style fabric means that the small range of adult clothing is also suitable maternity wear. If you want to go crazy you can even match your PJs to your sheets as they have a collection of organic bedding in their unique quirky style.

Maxomorra

Maxomorra are after our own hearts with sustainability at the forefront of their collections. They pride themselves on using certified organic cotton and continue to grow their list of ecologically sound practices. Sold through resellers in Australia as well as over 65 countries, there is sure to be something for everyone. With everything from PJs to hoodies, Maxomorra’s brightly patterned clothing brings playtime to life.

Småfolk

This Danish brand has a large portion of its clothes as ecotex certified. This means that they avoid use of harmful substances and chemicals in the making of their clothes. Smafolk take the fun in kids clothing to a whole new level with a great range of accessories and toys, including bicycle helmets! Their huge choice of baby accessories also make it easy to find a pressie for a new bub. Sneaky shopping tip: sign up to the Småfolk website because they periodically do bargain Mystery Box deals (but you might want to buddy up with a friend because the shipping is $$$)

Albababy

Alba is a more toned down version of Scandi style. Whilst you won’t find any bright and outlandish patterns in this collection, what you will find is a classic style made from organic materials. Their three brands – Albababy, Albakid and Atraktion cater for a range of ages, right up to tween. Their prices are relatively high but the quality and durability is top-notch, and the resale value is excellent so you can justify the extra cost because the clothes get worn for longer. I love their easy street style, especially for the older kids.

Modeerska Huset

A beautifully pared down design that uses organic and fair trade materials. If you love the style of Scandi, but the bright colours usually scare you away, then take a look at Modeerska Huset. Quietly gorgeous, current season colours are an assortment of muted patterns that are right on trend. Clothing is smart, with front snaps and wide comfy pant tops for babes. Their baby kimonos are just the cutest as well!

From outlandish patterns to street style and muted tones, there is no doubt that Scandi style has something to suite every taste. Their focus on using sustainable practices, organic materials and fair trade means that you can feel good about your purchase too.
